Don’t forget this Thursday is our Information Event at The Royal Hotel, Ablewell Street, Walsall 10am – 12pm where parents/carers can come and talk to the people that provide services to you child with SEN in Walsall

Also it’s the last day to book your child with SEN ( and their siblings ) onto the family play sessions

Coffee mornings 

Weds 28th Feb9.30am onwards – Toby Carvery, Broadway Walsall ( opposite the Arboretum extension )     Invite to Phil Wells on how to spend a £1million grant Walsall has received

Tues 8th March 9;30am onwward Toby Carvery, Walsall ( opposite the Arboretum extension )  We have invited Jackie Ross to this who is working for the SENDI department in Walsall

We are also having 3 Workshops so please keep these dates free in your diary too, The workshops will be attended by Claire Goss and other people from Walsall council and will involve topics where parents can have their say and help us work together in order to help to improve services we get for our children

Workshop Weds 28th March – The Royal Hotel ( we are still waiting confirmation but will tell you if we can’t hold it here )  10am – 12pm

Topic – Plans and aims of SENDI in Walsall and how we access services including Walsall Council’s ” Local Offer”  ( If you don’t know what the Local Offer is come along to find out and have a say in how we use it )

Workshop  Thurs 21st June   10am – 12pm – Venue to be confirmed

Topic – Transition, includes Reception into Year 1, Primary into Secondary and Preparing for Adulthood ( Did you know that Preparing for Adulthood starts as early as Year 8/9? )

Workshop Thurs 20th Sept   10am – 12pm  – Venue to be confirmed

Topic – CAMHS – Children and Mental Health Services and Healthcare will be discussed and again come and have your say and find out more about how this works in Walsall


Family Play Sessions

FACE have organised some family play sessions for 0 – 25years for chidren with SEN/disability in order for you to come and meet us while having a bit of family fun at Bloxwich Active Living Centre,High St, Walsall WS3 2DA

All the sessions are 2.30 – 4pm

FACE are meeting up with Cllr Aftab Nawaz and Home to School Transport on Tues 23rd January, we need feedback from parents who are using this service so we can work together to help improve the services.  We need to find out what is working well and what is working not so well

FACE information sharing event

FACE along with Walsall Carers Centre is holding an Information Sharing morning over coffee and tea for parents/carers of children and young people 0 – 25years and would like to invite you along

The event is designed for the parents/carers to come along to be able to chat to those who offer services to our children in Walsall

Monday 10th July FACE Walsall will be holding a consultation with parents of children and young people ( 0 – 25 ) with SEN and disabilities about how Walsall Council communicates with us

This will take place between 10am – 12pm at Healthwatch Walsall

47 Bridge Street

( it’s on the second floor where the courts are and the old co-op building for those f you who remember it )

Please come along so we can get your views and make sure that all parents are consulted regarding issues with their child and young person with SEN and disabilities as sadly there still seems a communication breakdown between the two parties and we want to make sure our views are heard to make it better in future
